A downloadable game for Windows
Hello! This is my first game. It allows you and a friend to face off in 2 maps, but you can always join a public lobby to play against someone you don't even know. It's made in Godot with GodotSteam plug-in, which allows to create and join lobbies and other few features that are used in the game using Steamworks SDK.
You may encounter bugs as the game is in no way finished and because from time to time I add some new content that can have bugs, but right now it's on a state that people can hop in and test it out perfectly. Just letting you know.
MAIN FEATURES
- Multiplayer: You can face against a friend or anyone in a 1v1 scenario. If you join later it's not a problem, the game allows to join in the middle of the match and sync all the data! IMPORTANT: The game is multiplayer but it's made with a peer to peer network system. This means that there might be some security risks or people cheating. I recommend playing it with a friend first.
- Customizable lobbies: You can set the privacy of the room, the time of the game, the kill limit, map, and even allow switching perspective from a first person to third person.
- Movement: Users will be able to jump, sprint, crouch, walk, aim and shot, with a feel like the 2000 games era.
- Visual feedback: Thanks to animations, Inverse Kinematics and sounds you can know if a player is looking up or down, aiming, reloading, etc.
- Weapons: The game features 5 weapons, each one being useful to certain situations (Shotgun, SMG, AR, Combat Rifle and a Sniper) and users can change weapon anytime they want in the match.
- Settings: You can change the graphical look of the game, lower or increase the volume and modify the controls of the game to your liking. The changes stay even if you close the game!
- In-game chat: Someone has joined your lobby and you want to tell them how happy you are to see them? You can tell him!
I don't know if I will keep developing it in the near future (right now my priority is to find a job) but at the moment I think it's a good time to show everything that has been done t and in case I successfully find a job, at least there is a way to play it. It's pretty much a barebones FPS right now, but keeping in mind it started as a class project, I'm proud of what it has become.
IMPORTANT NOTE: A Steam account is needed and having the Steam app opened is required to play the game. The game is using the ID 480 (Spacewar), which is used for Steamworks and network purposes.
ALSO, ANOTHER NOTE: For Linux users, you can play it with Proton, but since I haven't tested it myself (some friends did), I cannot guarantee it's fully stable.
